Introduction of Christianity to Myanmar

Western missionaries brought Christianity to Myanmar hundreds of years ago. They made more converts from among the minorities living in the mountains than any other group. Today, many minorities like the Kayin (Ka-ren) are Baptists.
When the Chinese Communists drove out the Christian missionary, many of our missionaries, who were working in China with the Lisu tribes, crossed into Myanmar. There they continued to spread the gospel to the Lisu people. As a result of that many Lisu people in Myanmar belong to the Christian church/church of Christ.
